Hijack threat- Airports on high alert

Fearing a repeat of a Khandahar styled operation all airports in the country have been put on high alert. The alert states that there could be a hijack bid on an Air India flight flying between Delhi and Kabul.

Intelligence Bureau (IB) officials say that the alert perception around the country is relatively high ahead of the Republic Day celebrations. Moreover with so much cross border firing and the interception of the boat from Pakistan has raised the alert levels to very high. Coastal alert continues: Meanwhile, all coasts will remain on high alert as intelligence suggests terrorists may try and sneak in through the seas. The coasts along Gujarat, Maharashtra and also Tamil Nadu have been placed on high alert.

Search operations continued for the second day after the boat of terror from Pakistan blew itself up. "We are still carrying out the operation and are hopeful of finding the debris and other related material from the boat soon," a Coast Guard officer informed.
