Are you'll backing for the forcible operation of "Divineguma" which is disagreeable by Tamils.



He made this statement, while addressing the group discussion in regard to the financial allocations for the development ministry. Tamil National Alliance Parliament Member M.A.Sumenthiran queried in parliament yesterday, whether minority race ministers are assisting for the forcible operation of "Divineguma" bill which is disagreeable by the Tamil people living in the Northern Province.
He made this statement, while addressing the group discussion in regard to the financial allocations for the development ministry.
He said, the Supreme Court notified to implement "Divineguma" bill by the government by acquiring two third majority from the parliament. However northern provincial people were not favorable towards this bill.
He queried why Sri Lanka Workers Congress Leader Arumugam Thondaman and Sri Lanka Muslim Congress Leader Rauf Hakeem and other Tamil party leaders are assisting for the forcible operation of the "Divineguma" bill which is not accepted by the Tamil people.
Former President introduced "Janasaviya" project, in the objective of eradicating poverty in the country, and considering the social development of people living beyond poverty line.
After the changeover of the government, this project was renamed as "Samurthi". Now it is a little modified and named "Divineguma" which is handed over to President's brother.
Financial allotments were carried out not accordance with the constitution in the budget proposal. A parliament member, who is not able to take responsibility, is given two third portions from the budget expenditure.
Defense Town Development Ministry, Highways, Ministry of shipping ports is the three ministries handed over to this council. This is contrary to the 148th affiliation rights of the constitution
Legislative executive powers and independent nature should not clash together.
During the period,  United National party was in power, an unwise act was done by bringing  crime charges against  former Chief Justice  Neville Samarakonne. Even though there was no provision in the constitution, United National Party made amendment in the parliament permanent orders.
Demised members from the opposition party at that time Sarath Muththettu Vegama, Anura Bandaranayake and senior members strongly condemned this, which I wish to point out in this assembly.
Supreme Court made a request to temporarily postpone the Parliament Selective Panel’s investigation regarding the crime charges brought against Chief Justice. However Supreme Court did not direct or given an order, but only made a humble request.
