Pulipparvai traces Balachandran's story

The photos of Balachandran the 14 year old son of Slain LTTE leader Prabhakaran were released last year and they added credibility to the belief that  the boy who was dead during the final leg of Sri Lankan Civil war had been kidnapped and brutally killed by the Srilankan Army.
The photographs lead to the state wide struggle by College students in Tamilnadu in support of Srilankan Tamils and independent international inquiry on the alleged war crimes of the Sri Lankan Army.

Director Praveen Kanth has decided to unveil the sad story of Balachandran in the silver screen and he has started making the film titled Pulippaarvai (Puli is the Tamil equivalent for Tiger). The boy donning the lead role in the film has been zeroed in after interviewing 100 children of the same age group as Balachandran as per the production soruces. The boy who has been selected is said to resemble the son of the rebel leader.

Puliparvai is being produced by Madhan under his Vendhar Movies banner and the trailer of the film has been released in social websites on January 14, 2014 that marks Pongal which is considered as the prominent festival of Tamils.
