Anti- Buddhist groups oppose the northern provincial council election

Buddhist racism groups announced they will never allow holding northern provincial council election, which would once again create tense situation in the country. They further noted holding election in equal to
implementing 13th amendment in the country.
These anti- Buddhist groups decided to stage massive protests all around the country. First protest campaign would begin end of the Sinhala- Tamil new celebrations.

SriLankan government has taken steps to hold Northern Provincial council election on September.

National Union of Integration will make official statement to media this regard. Commenting on their upcoming protest campaign member of the union went on to say,

“In several occasions we have requested government to cancel Northern Provincial Council election in the country. Government fail to accept are request and currently preparing to hold election in the Northern Provincial Council. We thoroughly condemn this activity”, he said.

Government makes two different statements in Geneva and SriLanka. Holding Northern Provincial Council is equal to implement 13th amendment in the country.
