President to declare open Iranaimadhu runaway

Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa would officially declare open reconstructed runaway at Iranimadhu.

Lankan Air Force currently reconstructs the runaway constructed by the LTTE.


Up to now they have completed reconstruction work of 1100 m and hope to expand the runaway up to 1500m.

C-130 jumbo size air craft would be landed in this runaway.

On December 9 Lankan Air Force commander Air Marcel Harsha Abeywardene landed Y-12 testing flight at this runaway.
