Govt blames Rahul Gandhi for politicizing FTII strike; protest reaches Delhi

The government on Monday blamed Congress for misleading FTII students and slammed Rahul Gandhi for politicizing the students' agitation on a day the students brought their protest to the national capital.

"Rahul Gandhi's Pune visit has made it clear, either this matter has taken a political turn or it's a political strike from the beginning," minister of state for information and broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore said on Monday as the students staged a protest at Jantar Mantar.

The minister said the government was open to discussions with the agitating students but was against politicizing the issue.

"Somewhere a small segment of students was being misled by a political party or a person," he said, adding, "Making this issue (FTII) political is biggest mistake, probably it reveals the source of strike."
