Gotabaya responsible for Matale grave: Sinhala woman

The largest mass grave in the country excavated in Matale between last November and February this year has set a new situation in motion following the revelation that the skeletal remains belonged to the period between 1986 and 1990.
The onus is now on the government to carry out a full-scale probe on the Matale mass graves following the announcement by the Matale Magistrate that the grave belonged to the period of the second JVP insurgency.

The grave was accidentally discovered when the ground at Matale Hospital premises was dug last November for construction purposes. Nevertheless, eyewitness Kamalawathi said she had waited patiently for over 20 years for the time to bring justice to the fallen comrades.
