A resolution was unanimously passed at Tamil Nadu Assembly yesterday, to the formation of separate Tamil Eelam for the Tamils in Sri Lanka.
The resolution was proposed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha was unanimously passed at the Assembly. A special debate concerning the Tamil Nadu students protest in support of Eelam was held yesterday Wednesday, and the resolution was implemented.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister addressed the Tamil Nadu Assembly yesterday, said, according to the Arignar Anna's thoughts to originate future welfare to the Sri Lanka Tamils; India should stop calling Sri Lanka as a friendly country.
Jayalalithaa said there should be an impartial, international and independent probe for the alleged war crimes; those found guilty should be tried in the international court of law and punished.
She said, should impose economic sanctions until the Sri Lankan government stops atrocities against Tamils living there.
Called for a referendum among Sri Lankan Tamils on the formation of a ‘Separate Eelam’ (Tamil land) within Sri Lanka. The referendum, she said, should be held for the sake of their future welfare.
The referendum should be conducted among Tamils in Sri Lanka and other displaced Tamils across the world. A resolution should also be adopted in the UN security council in this regard," she told the assembly.
Tamil Nadu Assembly urges Indian government to implement the above mentioned resolution.
The resolution which was proposed by me should be unanimously implemented in this assembly said, Jayalalitha. Consequent to this, the resolution was implemented at the assembly.
