132 students among 145 killed in Peshawar

Pakistan is reeling from the shock of a terror attack that has killed 132 children of a school in Peshawar. The attack on Tuesday on the army-run public school in Peshawar by Taliban militants, killed 145 people in all. 133 others were wounded.
The overwhelming majority of the victims were students in grades one to ten. Families and friends held funerals for the students. The attackers used guns and suicide bombs. Some witnesses say the gunmen went class by class and shot some children one by one, and beat others. Families and friends have expressed their anger and sadness.

"We condemn this. These children were the future builders of Pakistan, they were students. What had they to do with any (military) operation or whatever else is happening? They were innocent students. The government should have given them proper security because as far as I know, this school was getting regular threats. Once or twice it was closed down because of the threats," says a man.

"My son was only 15 years old and was in the eighth grade. I met him at night and I am not able to express right now the conversation we had. We had lunch together. Early in the morning, he woke up before me and went to school at around 11:00 o’clock. I was in the court when I received a call about the incident and then rushed towards the hospital," says fazal Khan, a father of a killed student.
