Three arrested over Tangalle bus conductor’s murder

Police have arrested three suspects over Wednesday’s murder of a temporary bus conductor by gunmen at the Tangalle bus stand. The police media unit said that the suspects, all of them residents of Tangalle, were arrested
last night by Tangalle Police. The 34-year-old bus conductor was shot and killed at around 11.30am on Wednesday (June 4) by two gunmen on a motorcycle.

The gunmen had reportedly inquired from him regarding the whereabouts of a man known as ‘Army Amila’ and when the victim had said he did not know they opened fire at him and fled. 

Army Amila, who is a suspect in a rape and murder case, was injured after being shot at by gunmen near the Tangalle Magistrate’s Court on May 22.
