10 Things Men Should Eat Before Going to Gym


Food is like fuel for the body. Thus, it is very important to eat before working out in a gym. You just cannot eat anything before workout. It is therefore vital to maintain a proper diet. A balanced diet will include everything –
proteins, vitamins and minerals along with 12 or more glasses of water every day. Here is a list of foods that men should take before going out to gym. Before going to gym, one must be full with glycogen because if the levels of glycogen are low, it would lead to fatigue and reduced energy.


 This should be taken 2-3 hours before leaving for gym. This should also include a small content of healthy fat if you are taking food before going to gym in the morning. Also, take in 8 ounces of water 1 or 2 hours before going to gym. If you are going for gym in the morning, then the best meal before going to gym is whole grained cereals, bread or toast, milk that contains low fat or you can replace it with yogurt, fruits and boiled eggs. You can also go for fruit smoothies, handful of nuts, banana spread along with peanut butter.

If you are going for a breakfast before going to gym, you will need to take in high protein, high carbohydrate food within 2 hours of workout in order to fill up the loss of glucose. Take half a slice of whole wheat bread. Along with it, take a tablespoon of crunchy peanut butter. Take some crackers along with an ounce of cheese. Take a cup of grapes quarterly filled and mixed with half a cup of cottage cheese. Take a fruit smoothie that is made of milk or milk soy. Take a quarter cup of blueberries that is mixed with half a cup of yogurt. All the above contains about 45 grams of carbohydrates along with small content of proteins. 

If you do not have much time in hand before going out to gym, you need to take in 25 grams of carbohydrates. Make a note of the following: Eat a small sized banana before working out in gym. Take in some crackers. You can even eat a handful of raisins. Applesauce is another good option that you can eat before working out in gym.
